I’m a graphic designer, photographer, author and teacher living in Brighton, UK. Between 1991 and 2004 I lived in San Francisco where I operated my design business, Small World Productions, and later became the director of the graphic and interactive design program at UC Berkeley Extension. I'm author of InDesign Type and Photoshop Unmasked (both Adobe Press) and several titles for the Lynda.com online training library.
I have taught graphic design and design software for more than 15 years in the US and the UK to students from a wide range of backgrounds and ages, and covering all levels of experience. Concurrent with my design projects, I travel nationally and internationally teaching InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom to a broad cross-section of the creative industries.
Whether you’re a beginner looking for a jump start to learning new skills, a longtime user needing to deepen your understanding of your tools, or an expert wanting to fill in a few gaps, I can offer a course to meet your needs.
I provide one-to-one training in Brighton or can travel to your workplace and offer hands-on training in groups of up to six people. My rates are very competitive.
Not just a trainer of the Adobe Creative Suite, I use it every day to create my own designs and my training content reflects this. Rather than a feature list, I offer a critical appraisal of the software and share real world techniques. The training is interactive, project-focused, relevant, and design-driven—after all why bother learning to create things that don’t look good? You’ll come away confident that the techniques you learn will make it easier to get your job done.
As well as the courses listed here, I can tailor the content to your specific needs—give me a call: 07932 480850 or send me an email to discuss.
